I'm running 252km through the Sahara Desert!!
I was blindsided with a tongue cancer diagnosis in 2016 at the age of 22 and it seemed like life came to a grinding holt. Surgery and treatment was really tough on everyone, but I was fortunate to make it out the other end with some perspective. With that perspective I took up marathon swimming and swam 33km across the English Channel solo, raising over $22,000 for Canteen along the way.
Now, four years on I'm back with my next challenge - running 252km through the Sahara Desert in the famed Marathon Des Sables! Once again, I'm going to use this incredible event as a way to raise funds and awareness for the awesome work that Canteen does for young people across Australia.
The Marathon Des Sables is a self-sufficient ultramarathon stage race. This means I'll have to carry, all my gear and food for 7 days in the Sahara. It's going to be tough, but nothing like the impact that cancer has on a young person's world.
