June's Legacy

June's flowers

Thank you for joining this page, dedicated to June Caunt.

June was always grateful for a healthy family.  One of the ways she demonstrated this gratitude was to donate to charities for children and young people.

Most recently, June has supported Canteen. Canteen is a charity that ensures young Aussies impacted by cancer still receive the support they need during this difficult and isolating time.  Canteen supports young people living with cancer, whether it is their own diagnosis, or that of a parent or sibling.

Cancer has directly and indirectly touched the lives of many people June cares about.  It also recently and unexpected has taken her away from us.  We know donations to a children's charity would mean so much more to her than tributes and flowers.

June also worked tirelessly towards the development of St Michael's and All Angels Church in Spearwood and advised she would appreciate support for the building fund. If this is your preferred option, please pay directly into their account name "Anglican Community Fund",  reference: "Spearwood Parish in memory of Dr June Caunt."  BSB706-001 Acc 30003098.

June was almost a neighbour out at West Byford in the 1970s; we were Alcoa colleagues; raced greyhounds at the same time; went on holidays together; even lost weight together! How did we dare lose touch.

Our paths crossed many times over the past 9 years. I loved June's dry sense of humour and her wonderful hugs. She leaves a big hole in many of our lives and will be greatly missed.

Mr Peter Lynch

June was a dear friend of my mum's (Olive Lynch) when they both worked at Pearson's department store in Nottingham UK and also attended church together as young women. June also came to my mum's wedding before embarking on her adventure in Australia and the two of them kept in touch firstly by snail airmail and latterly by email until my mum's passing in early 2021. I feel the pain for all the family and wish you well for the future without June but can only say from my own personal experience time does heal but you will never forget all the good times. God bless you all
