The Summit Society and Hellyer College are organising a joint team in the Burnie 10 to raise money for Canteen.

The Summit Society hiking group was founded to encourage and provide opportunity for young people to participate in hiking the Abel Mountains of Tasmania. This type of hiking is physically and mentally challenging and logistically difficult to participate in for young people. Time spent in green spaces is known to improve mental and physical health. Multi-day hiking teaches people planning, logistics and increases confidence, physical fitness and self-efficacy.

Our team is training twice a week to prepare to run/walk our best and demonstrate our commitment to our goal. We will be posting updates to our instagram - @the_summit_society.tas and @hellyercollege_.

Cancer affects everyone differently. That’s why Canteen provides a wide range of free support services to help young people impacted by cancer overcome the specific challenges they're dealing with. This includes social connection events and programs, specialised counselling, 24/7 online support and access to resources and personalised support.
