Just like that, events and social gatherings have stopped. But it's harder to stop cancer!

Social distancing done right
Now, more than ever, our young people need your help.
In order to reduce the risk of infection for families who are already dealing with the immense challenges of cancer, Canteen has made some changes to the way we deliver our services. We will:
- postpone face to face programs and events for the next three months and instead run additional online and video link events
- provide all individual support and counselling appointments online, via video link, email or by phone.
How can you help?
It’s only through the generosity of our supporters like you that Canteen Connect - our free 24/7 online platform - can continue being the go-to safe online space for young people aged 12-25 who are impacted by cancer.
With the influx of registrations and logins to Canteen Connect comes an increase in requests for online, email and phone counselling, special online events to reduce social isolation, and deep dives into our information and resources on new ways to build coping skills and resilience during this tough period.
So in these times of social distancing, why not kick off those New Year's resolutions that you never started, or set yourself a new personal challenge and fundraise to support our young people impacted by cancer?
Choose to 'Move It' or 'Quit It' for Canteen now and head off those feelings of boredom and frustration by taking solo action for someone else who might not be able to.
Running and walking events have all been cancelled so why not take on your own personal virtual challenge? Dare yourself to cycle, walk, run, skip, or hop 10kms, 20kms or even 30,000kms and log your progress online while getting others to support you - they might even want to join you on the challenge.
Maybe it's that mid-morning coffee you'd nip out of the office to get every morning, or the sugary snack you'd have with your afternoon tea. Or could you quit Netflix for a whole month?! 'Quit It' - and ask people to support you at the same time.
Not into setting up a personal challenge? You can ensure young Aussies living with cancer get the support they need by donating here. We have a heap of ideas on how you can donate the cost of things you may not need in the next few weeks or months, such as your commute to work or your Friday after work drink.
Whatever you choose to do, we need your help to raise $150,000 to keep Canteen Connect going for the next three months.
