Come support CanTeen and join us for this year's West Coast Beach Walk!

Join us on 2019's West Coast Beach Walk as we trek from sunrise to sunset to support young people living with cancer. We would love to have you with us!

West Coast Beach Walk is a 50km picturesque route starting from Perth's Burns Beach and ending in WA's Famous Fremantle Port City at Port Beach.

Each year 23,000 young people across Australia are affected by a cancer diagnosis, that's 63 every day. This year we aim to raise $30,000 which will help provide 400 counselling sessions for these young people, where they get professional support in dealing with the complex emotions and feelings associated with cancer. These valuable funds help to ensure that no young Aussie faces cancer alone by providing practical and emotional support tailored to the needs of young people, and the chance to connect with others who are in the same boat.

You'll have the chance to meet one of our young members Tilly who will be supporting you on the day, and learn first hand the difference your contribution makes!

So, mark your calendars, and join us on Saturday the 9th of November, and get your SWEAT ON!

Meet Tilly

"Cancer is like being in an unmapped forest. Trying to find your way through with no path, no directions, lots of twists and turns, and no obvious way to get to the other side. I was 18 years old when I was diagnosed with cancer. I had no idea that it would come into my life as a ‘fake friend’.

Cancer to me was like a dream. When my surgeon told me that the small lump in my finger was an epithelioid sarcoma - a rare, aggressive, malignant tumour - The dream got worse and turned into a nightmare… The only treatment option available was to have my finger amputated.

Connecting with other young people with a cancer experience in their lives was the best thing I ever did and the relief I felt when I spoke to a CanTeen counsellor when I first joined was enormous. CanTeen has really helped me every step of the way from re-adjusting to my ‘new normal’ to regaining my self-esteem and confidence. "
