Metricon x Canteen
VIC Cycle 2022

Sat 26 March - Wed 30 March

Riding to make a difference

Raised so far

$240,000

Our goal

$210,000

We’re riding to make a difference. This March, 25 members of the Metricon team will be completing a 568km five-day bike ride, converting their pedal power into fundraising dollars to support young Australians living with cancer.

Cycling from the Metricon Head Office in Mount Waverley to Ballarat, Ballarat to Colac, Colac to Apollo Bay, Apollo Bay to Rye, and finally Rye back to the Mount Waverley Head Office, the Metricon team will push their physical limits to raise money and awareness for Canteen.

Our fundraising goal of $210,000 will help young people cope with cancer in their family, rebuild their foundations and connect with others in the same boat.

Message from our CEO

“At Metricon, many of our employees, suppliers and customers have been touched by cancer in their lives. This connection was the genesis of our partnership with Canteen, and we are committed to helping this special organisation amplify their impact in the community. The Canteen VIC Cycle is a wonderful extension of our relationship, and it is inspiring to see 25 members of the Metricon team challenging themselves physically to support the 23,000 young Australians whose lives are impacted by cancer every year.”

Why we are riding

Our goal of $210,000 could provide 2,333 free counselling sessions to help young people cope with the challenges of cancer.

Canteen counselling services are confidential and completely free. Young people can talk to specially trained counsellors about thoughts or feelings they may find hard sharing with others. The counsellors help them develop strategies to deal with the impact cancer is having on their life – and just listen.
