Join us on Hike the Light 2019, as we race the sun and hike the picturesque Wilson’s Promontory National Park to support young people living with cancer.
Hike the Light is a 35.5km walk in Wilson’s Prom following the East Prom Coastal Hike Circuit. Your challenge is to complete the circuit between first and last light, we know you can do it!
Each year 23,000 young people are affected by a cancer diagnosis, 5000 of these are young people from Victoria. We know that these young people are up to six times more likely to experience high levels of psychological distress than their unaffected peers. Funds raised through Hike the Light will help CanTeen to continue providing overnight programs, peer-based recreation days, and ensure they continue to receive access to tailored individual support.
You’ll be trekking alongside Morgan who is one of our young CanTeen members, so you can learn first-hand the difference you’re making, whilst taking on this challenge together!
Spaces are limited, so register for Hike the Light today and help to make sure that no young person faces cancer alone.
"I grew up with cancer being a normal part of family life to me. My Father was diagnosed with Male breast cancer before I was born and passed away when I was 5 years old and my Mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 7 and passed away when I was 21 years old. My whole life was turned upside down when this happened but with the support of CanTeen I have been able to push through what could’ve ruined my life entirely and learnt to keep going''
